The Mad Michigander
Get to Know The Mad Michigander
Sean Chase
The year was 1990, at a hospital in Grand Rapids... Sean Chase was born. From an early age I was drawn to sports, especially basketball. In an era where Michael Jordan, Barry Sanders and Steve Yzerman, I began playing ever sport my dad would pay for.
I played football at Newaygo High School and received unanimous All-Conference honors in the Lakes 8. During my high school athletics career I received Varsity letters in Cross Country, Wrestling and Track as well.

Following high school I joined the U.S. Army as an Armor Crewman. After basic training I was stationed in Vilseck, Germany before spending a year in Afghanistan. Once I left the Army, I worked a variety of fields before quitting to attend Grand Rapids Community College.

While at GRCC, I worked for The Collegiate Live working my way up from covering GRCC sports to Editor-in-Chief. During this time I worked as Sports Editor and Managing Editor at one point.

Currently, I am a Senior at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, MI. Besides this site, you can also find my work in the Sports Section of CM Life, where I cover CMU volleyball.
